CARRERA introduced a tow truck with a fantasy design—featuring elements inspired by the ’60s (cab), the hot rod scene (rims), and more. And ever since then, there’s been something new every year based on this chassis. This year it’s a tow truck again—the third in
the lineup. What, the third? That can’t be right—we only know the first one from 2017. That’s correct; the truck has the part number 30776. But in 2018, a visually identical vehicle with the item number 30867 was released; however, it had a better circuit board with more sound effects.
And this year, the tow truck is available in bright yellow. Since a major German automobile club apparently isn’t cooperative enough—or perhaps demands too much in licensing fees to allow its logo on this vehicle—the car is now available in
On the side is the legendary slogan from the ’70s: Experts drive CARRERA. On the doors, below the bumper, there’s a nice little black-and-white logo: it shows Captain
T-OW for towing, 132 for the scale.
I like the car in this color far better than the original red one. And I'm very sure that it will find plenty of fans who want to see the little yellow car on their track.
