Carrera Digital 124 Porsche 917K "Daytona 1970"

Art.Nr. 23973

it took CARRERA 4 years to include a PORSCHE 917K in the current range again.
The last one was in the range in 2019, back then the plain white racer of the Porsche Team Salzburg.
The first PORSCHE 917K was produced by CARRERA in 2012, when the red and white car of the Salzburg team and the GULF with the number 2 of the J.WYERteam were launched on the market. The then GULF had the number 2, which was the winner of the 1970 Daytona 24-hour race. The British JOHN-WYER-AUTOMOTIVE team had two cars on the grid at the time, which dominated the race from the start. The number 2 won back then, the number 1 came second.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, CARRERA now has the number 1 car from the 1970 race at the start. The drivers back then were the Swiss JOE SIFFERT and the Brit BRIAN REDMAN.
The new GULF is visually Gothankfully not a copy of the number 2, just with a different starting number, the car differs considerably from the number 2 in its paintwork due to the wide orange snout.

Even though the design of the model Porsche is already 10 years old, it can still keep up with today's vehicles in terms of driving technology, especially of course with its main opponent on the track, the LOLA T70, which is younger in terms of development. This speaks for the rock-solid and high-quality construction on which the car is based.
The total weight is 202 g total weight (of which 45 g body, 154 chassis with technology + 3 g screws)

The upper headlight is supplied with light, the rear is not illuminated.
The printing is neatly executed, the clear-coated body looks high-quality and not like a toy car.

Like the prototype, the tires have a light tread, but there is sufficient grip. The printing of the tires with the CARRERA lettering is due to the licensing issue and is well known.
The wide axle in combination with the wide tires and the flat silhouette are a guarantee for quick and safe driving, especially in the curves. The gearbox runs smoothly, does not rattle and the whole car responds well.

The tuning faction also gets its money's worth, the PORSCHE leaves enough space for experimenting with lead plating on the sidepods and removing the magnets.
