Following the Würth version, the second design variant of the “Liqui Moly Equipe”—often colloquially referred to as the “Nigrin Capri”—is now available.
The original model was driven by Manfred Winkelhock during the 1981 season of the German Racing Championship (DRM). Normally, the front spoiler of the car featured large “Nigrin” lettering; two competitors have already produced slot car models in this design.
However, for the race at the Norisring, the design was modified—the classic Carreralogo is clearly visible on the front spoiler, the roof, and the rear side panels Carrera. At the time Carrera , Fürth and Nuremberg were still Carrera part of Bavaria, and so the company’s management at the time decided on this one-time sponsorship for the “home race.” A pleasant side effect: Large-format images of the original vehicle were also used to great promotional effect in the 1981/82 main catalog. Thirty-five years later, we’ve come full circle.
Technically, the model naturally corresponds to the first version, though the tires offer noticeably better grip this time around. While the Würth version with partial magnetization was a real tail-slider, this model—with the same setup—now handles much more smoothly and effectively.
