In the last club report on the Porsche 911 Cabriolet, I predicted that the car would next be available in black. You could be wrong: The paint job on the newest Porsche in the 2017 lineup is metallic blue. This blue is also available on the original car, so that's true and won't offend the purist's eye. The racing stripes, on the other hand, are due to the designer's artistic license. Personally, I like racing stripes on production cars, even if plenty of people find them juvenile, if not embarrassing. That's probably due to my age (47); the 80s were the era of racing stripes, spoilers, stickers, and other tuning excesses... They suit the 911, or rather the body, well.
At the time, I also wrote: "Personally, I would like to have a female driver for the car someday." Unfortunately, that wish didn't come true. We have a male driver again, wearing a white shirt and a red polo. In reality, he probably looks like 70% of the owners.
All in all, the car is well-made; the sporty paint job makes it stand out from other Porsche convertibles, which are painted in a single color. The car's handling is notoriously good; even the old 911 GT3 RSR, despite its age, is still one of the best cars in the small professional class.
