Art.Nr. 30923"
The 1976 6 Hours of Silverstone was a round of the World Sports Car Championship at the time. In addition to a factory BMW, several other teams also competed with the racing version of the E9 Coupe. The car that served as the basis for this model was entered by Alpina; it finished in 4th place, narrowly missing a podium finish.
What makes both the real car and the model exceptional is the color scheme, which is a striking variation on the factory design. Nowadays, one would probably call this “Dark Mode.”
Technically, nothing has changed compared to the first two design variants. Given the size of the vehicle, a total weight of 103 grams is still acceptable. Its performance is well-matched to that of the other Group 5 cars, allowing for a diverse field of competitors.
