The Bavarian duel

Marco Wittmann won the DTM championship title in 2014 and 2016. In the 2019 season, he secured the opening victory right off the bat, followed by three more wins as the season progressed. This made him the spearhead of the BMW team, and he battled for the championship against the two Audi drivers, Rene Rast and Nico Müller. Ultimately, however, the two Audi drivers proved too dominant; nevertheless, Wittmann finished third in the overall standings and was thus the top BMW driver.
His teammate Philipp Eng celebrated a race win at Zolder and scored points in nearly every other race; he failed to finish only in the penultimate race at the Hockenheimring. In the final standings, he finished sixth overall and was the second-best BMW driver behind Marco Wittmann.
Both Carrera models are still based on the 2015 body design and therefore differ from the newly designed 2018 Audi and Mercedes models. And while the latter two models are practically neck and neck on my test track, the BMW models always lag slightly behind. Taken on their own, however, there is nothing to complain about in terms of handling. As with all DTM models, they offer a smooth and solid road holding.
