New rules, new technology

In February 2017, Red Bull Racing presented the new racing car for the Formula 1 World Championship. Due to changed regulations the technology of the car was strongly adapted and, from now on, only had little in common with the predecessor model RB12. But this also made it stronger and more innovative. The necessary amount of power is provided by the 1.6-litre V6 engine, which is coupled with a turbocharger and a 120 kW electric motor. From this point of view, the vehicle can therefore be described as a hybrid electric motor vehicle. Max Verstappen was again selected as the driver by Red Bull
