Procar racing series, cult status with many fans

The design. The silhouette. The famous six-cylinder in-line engine at the rear: the BMW M1 Procars enjoys a cult status among fans. In the Formula 1 seasons of 1979 and 1980 the Procar Racing Series took place as a supporting programme to other European racing events. Private drivers with their sports cars were able to compete against the five fastest Formula 1 drivers in the BMW M1 Procar. The cars were developed especially for this series by BMW and could also be purchased by hobby racers. The silhouette and distinctive design are completely in keeping with the spirit of the time, and the straight six-cylinder engine is a must when it comes to such a BMW.
