The BMW M1 Procar "No.111" in a dark blue pinstripe look and prominent BOSS-men's fashion sticker, was launched in 1979 and 1980 together with the racing driver Franz Ostermaier at the Procar Championship. Only a few years later – in 1984 – the car was allowed to compete with all its great looks in the 1000km endurance race at the Nürburgring. The two drivers here were Manthey and Mertes. With a top speed of just over 164 mph and an acceleration from 0 to 124 mph in 25.4 seconds, the vehicle showed its ability and made a clear statement in the racing scene at that time.
